Rules vs. Relationships: Managing accountability & repair in response to racial harm in the workplace

Racialized harm - including discrimination, microaggressions, racial intimidation, dog-whistling, disproportionate discipline, being passed over or discouraged from applying for promotions, and more - is an ongoing epidemic in workplaces in the US and across the globe. Estimates range from 25% to 42% of employees of color experience racism in the workplace in any given year.

Anti-discrimination laws and racial equity statements have not eliminated racial harm at work, so what can organizations do to create safe, supportive workplaces where employees of color can thrive while contributing & developing their talents?

Join Carlos Kareem Windham, of El Porvenir Services, and Theresa Logan of Subduction Consulting, for a FREE interactive discussion about the challenges and benefits of both policy-based and relationship-based responses to racialized harm in the workplace.

Our guiding questions will be:

  • How have you experienced racialized harm managed well?

  • How have you experienced racialized harm handled poorly?

  • What steps can we each take to create workplace cultures of accountability and repair?

The session recording will be shared with all registered participants. If you know you won’t be able to attend live, please feel free to email your questions ahead of time to theresa@subductionconsulting.com.
