Gender Expansiveness, An Intersectional Overview

In the third session of the Navigating the Intersections series, participants will learn the context of gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation from historical, present and future perspectives. This training will also provide examples of gender variance across pre-colonial time and space. Further, this training will provide resources for creating inclusive environments, promoting intersectional equity and practicing allyship. This session will go beyond the basics and will benefit anyone curious to know more about gender through the context of global history and colonial influence.

Silver has 10+ years of experience in DEI training, policy engagement, community organizing, graphic design, communications and the arts. Utilizing an intersectional framework, Silver is on a mission to co-create equitable, holistic and innovative solutions to oppression. Silver has facilitated Transgender Trainings for the Oregon Employment Department, lead workshops with the National LGBTQ Taskforce, designed curriculum for the Oregon Students of Color Conference in Eugene, OR and much more. In 2020, Silver was featured via National Geographic, Willamette Week and Oregon Public Broadcasting for their contributions in the Movement for Black Lives. Silver is recognized as a visionary, advocate, strategist, educator and expert at the intersections of race and gender equity.
